PUPPETLAND

SCRAP

What do you do when you have a show to produce? How do you get ideas? Where can you ‘find yourself’ in the devising process? ..Why are there so many songs about Rainbows? These are all questions we ask ourselves on a daily basis.

A group of Wannabe creatives are working on their latest show.. But there’s just one problem: They have no ideas! In a desperate bid to create their project, our creatives enter the scrapyard.. A place full of discarded material, and ideas, with the aim to find their flow, and themselves in their puppet-filled surroundings.

Set to catchy tunes from puppet media, and musicals alike, Puppetland aims to explore our interests, Our connections, utilising our whimsy, and the one thing that connects us all? Puppets. Join us as we set off to answer the question:

“What could our ‘puppet land’  Look like?”

  • Hello, I’m Velocity, a 3rd Year DTA student and co-creative for Puppetland. I am an aspiring writer and creative with a deep love of theatre in both performance and production design. I am always open and interested in creating different performance materials, as I am often inspired by popular media culture and personal experiences accompanied by humour and sentiment. Puppetland became an outlet for me to collaborate with an open-minded group of fellow creators and share different ideas to create a performance that is very special to us as people and artists. I am excited to see our puppets and creations come to life before the eyes of audiences, as much as we loved making and devising them.

  • Hi, I’m Marley, a 3rd year DTA student and I am one of your creatives for Puppetland! I have always had an interest in theatre, be it scenographic, technical, or performance, I have made it my goal to learn and experience as much as I can about all walks of the stage. Puppetland has allowed me to work collaboratively, and develop my devising and creation skills to a new level. My favourite part has been creating the puppets and watching their personalities come to life as they take on our stories.
